I am interested in CORD and applying data center SDN/NFV technologies to Service Provider Access and Transport systems.
David Schenkel brings 40 years of business and technology experience to his role as a senior technology analyst at ADTRAN reporting to the CTO. David works with the product management, engineering and CTO Office teams to create future products and technology directions.
Prior to his present position Mr. Schenkel was a founder and CTO of Objectworld Communications, spending six years bringing the company’s all-in-one Microsoft based unified communications software to market. Throughout his career he has held both management and staff positions in R&D organizations at Bell Northern Research, Nortel, Mitel, and Peregrine Systems, primarily developing data communications, PBX, CO, and network management products. He has also functioned in CTO and operations roles at Mobile Knowledge, a maker of mobile terminals and taxi dispatch software, where he significantly improved company operations; and at Loran International Technologies deploying Plaintree based data switch networks and pioneering the introduction of the world’s first network management appliance. As a founder of Objectworld Communications, Loran International Technologies, Plaintree Systems, and Unified Technologies, he is also a successful technology entrepreneur. David holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Hon) degree from the Engineering Science Program at the University of Toronto.
