OpenDaylight is a broad, industry-wide effort to build a common platform for SDN and NFV solutions. It currently has more than 50 subprojects providing support for everything ranging from southbound protocols like OpenFlow and NETCONF to high-level features like network virtualization or policy-based network configuration. Keeping track of these projects, what they provide, and how they interact is a difficult task even for people deeply involved in OpenDaylight. However, this understanding is critical, for newcomers trying to learn how they can use OpenDaylight and/or where they might contribute. In this talk, Luis Gomez and Colin Dixon will lend their experience from running the TSC and Integration project, respectively, to provide an introduction to all of the current projects in OpenDaylight, what they do, how they interact, and why people should care about them.
