OpenO is designed to be ETSI NFV architecture compliant, whose northbound interface supports both TOSCA and YANG templates input as well as an GUI engine for NFV service template creation/editing. OpenO is composed of a NS orchestrator, responsible for NS lifecycle events management, and Resource orchestrator, maintaining a DB for stats and status of resource/VNF/NS instances. There is also a dedicated module for real time monitory on the running status of instantiated VNFs/NSs. Currently, Tacker is integrated as the generic VNFM implementation, which could be used to create and manage the corresponding virtual resources via OpenStack, e.g. virtual machines via Nova and virtual networks via Neutron. Service Function Chaining is also supported by integrated SDN driver within the NS orchestrator talking to an ODL controller to fulfill network orchestration.
